Generally mystery stories are the stories in which a person acts like a ghost and faceless (unknown) as a villain. In these stories mystery passes one to another person but an unknown parson never found by readers. So these stories are known as mystery stories. There are some classic mystery stories popular from long time.

Book 1: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd

This novel is written by Hercule Poirot and published in 1926 in UK and US. This story is based on a mysterious murder of a wealthy lady living in a village, Mrs.Ferrars was widow and one day she was found dead. Dr.Sheppard thinks it was a suicide till Roger Ackroyd is also killed. Roger, a widower expected to marry Mrs.Ferrars. Mostly suspects are Ackroyd’s guests, Major Blunt, a hunter interested in Flora, Ackroyd’s niece, and many other people related to Mr.Ackroyd. This story was played as a drama in1928 and film made in 1931. This mystery novel is one of the best mystery novels.

Book 2: Evil Under The Sun

This book was published in 1941 in UK and US. By Hercule Poirot. In a Holiday resort of island, Poirot was holidaying and he suddenly feel that there will be committed a murder but he can stop it. The victim was hated by many people so the expected doubt is on guests of Jolly Roger Hotel in Island. A couple of America gives a comic touch. Poirot assist a constable for finding suspects. A film was produced in 1982 play Poirot role by Peter Ustinov.

Book 3: The Moving Toyshop

A Novel Written by Edmund Crispin published in 1946. This book has a comic mystery novel. Edmund Crispin is a mystery writer who can combine a mystery with a comic touch and a good spirit of mystery solving capability. A Murder is found in a toy shop. And when security enters in the shop the body was not found. This is a classic mystery story from a golden age. This story is involved around a toy shop only.

Book 4: Ten Little Niggers

This book is identify by different names in US name is ‘And Then There Were None’, at some places ‘Ten Little Indians’. The novel was published in 1939 by Agatha Christie. Book introduced 10 different characters who are stranger to each other stay on lonely island. No contact can established to outside world. At the beginning story is quit boring but once an Indian guest arrives on an island the mysterious murders are committed. A good thriller is you have not guess about the suspect. As you story reads it will creates fear in mind. This is a great suspenseful mystery, don’t miss it!

Book 5: Murder On The Orient Express

The Novel has one more name is ‘Murder In The Calais Coach’. This book is written by Hercule Poirot published in 1934. A murder is committed in a compartment on Istanbul-Calais coach of the Orient Express train. Poirot is come from Syria and train taken a halt in Yugoslavia just after murder because of snowstorm. A victim is named Ratchett, an American businessman. And Mr. Piorot put tow theories to the guess the suspect.
